iPhone MMS Settings with Qtel

Those iPhone users out there who read Mr. Q will be happy with another little update.

If you’ve updated your iphone to 3.0 then you’re probably wondering why you don’t have MMS or that Camera icon in your messages application.

To enable MMS with QTel, within your carrier settings section just input these settings

APN : mms.qtel
Username : mms
password : mms
MMSC : http://mmsr.qtelmms.qa
MMS Proxy : 10.23.8.3:8080
MMS max message size : BLANK
MMS UA PROF URL : Blank

Note: QTel changed their MMS Settings. Anybody have any new ones?

Sorry Alex but I don’t have a clue. QTel doesn’t directly support the iphone and I’ve never tried putting a broadband sim in an iphone. It would be great if it did work though.

    I don’t think it’s web.tel it would be web.qtel right?

    Hi guys!

Just change the MMSC point to : http://mmsr.qtelmms.Qa
    (it should be capitalized “Qa”).

    It works for me.

Freedom of Expression

Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which the Qatari Government is a signatory of states: Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any medias and regardless of any frontiers.

The Emiri Decision Number 86 of the year 2007 on the establishment of the Doha Free Information Centre marked yet another step towards establishing a State of rights and freedom of speech. The decision stipulated that the Centre be a non-profit organization, headquartered in Doha City, and have the authority to establish other affiliated centres inside and outside Qatar. It is worth mentioning that His Highness the Emir issued a decision in 1998 annulling the ministry of information, giving birth to a new era of freedom of speech where censorship was removed from local media.
