How to increase traffic to your site? Alexa Traffic Ranking in Qatar

A lot of people have asked me how to increase ranking of their site so that they in turn can get more visitors. The simple answer? Content. The realistic answer? It’s temporary. Unless…..

Even if you did get someone to come and visit your site because you had one fantastic post, if it doesn’t constantly generate interesting topics, then nobody will come back.

The other solution is to understand that negativity sells. Some sites know this. They are fuelled off of negativity. However, this can backfire. Users that visit the site can also break it apart. It’s inevitable and most sites often turn into heavily regulated sites to survive.

So the solution is to create a website which is unique and/or compelling and/or interesting. You need to fill in the gaps that the interenet has.

I know some people were searching for some amazingly simple answer but if you want to create a website which is successfull in Qatar, think of something new, special, don’t do TOO much, and you’ll find yourself riding that silky dune.

  • http://www.qatarvisitor.com/ Qatar Visitor

Not sure if I agree with you there, Amnesia. We have put a lot of hours into Qatar Visitor!

but that’s what I’m saying. You have to put in the effort to create a site that has content which is unique, compelling and interesting.

Exactly as Qatar Visitor and iLoveQatar.net is doing :)

Freedom of Expression

Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which the Qatari Government is a signatory of states: Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any medias and regardless of any frontiers.

The Emiri Decision Number 86 of the year 2007 on the establishment of the Doha Free Information Centre marked yet another step towards establishing a State of rights and freedom of speech. The decision stipulated that the Centre be a non-profit organization, headquartered in Doha City, and have the authority to establish other affiliated centres inside and outside Qatar. It is worth mentioning that His Highness the Emir issued a decision in 1998 annulling the ministry of information, giving birth to a new era of freedom of speech where censorship was removed from local media.
