What should be happening is that when you sync your iphone with iTunes (and you have a Vodafone sim in) it should automatically download the Vodafone Qatar settings into your phone.

Thanks for that again, I found the settings on the Vodafone website (slightly different but I guess it didn’t make any difference). The only problem now is that my iTunes wants to change these settings everytime I sync. I guess maybe this is because I set up my iStore account in the UK as I don’t think I can do it with a Qatar address.

Does anyone know a way around this, it seems if I say I don’t want to change the settings then it cancels the sync completely.

Hi there Bernie,

You should leave the username and passwords blank.

If the 3G icon pops up it means you’ve got the right settings put in (but you should still leave the user and pass blank).

As for the 300mb free, I download applications on the iPhone and it takes it out of the 300mb for me.

You should be able to find information on the Vodafone website in the FAQ section?

That was great information, pity that Vodafone couldn’t have given it to me despite asking them several times and checking their websites. I tried to update the setting via iTunes update like they told me to but that didn’t work.

Anyway, I plugged in your settings and ’3G’ popped up. I assumed that I put in my vodafone username and password or could I have left that blank?

One thing that Vodafone said was that I get the promotional 300Mb for this month for ‘browsing’ but not downloading. I wonder if apps like google earth or yahoo messenger fall into the ‘browsing’ category, probably not.

Vodafone, you need to lift your game (at least your website).
